Mrs Lemonia Karagiannis, an Architect Engineer presented an innovative project for creation a base in Antarctica.
Brief Presentation of her work
Karagianni Lemonia is an architect-engineer, specializing in "Building Technology" and "Façade engineering".
She graduated in 2012 from the School of Architectural Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in 2015 completed her studies at "TU Delft University of Technology" in the Netherlands, obtaining an MSc in Architecture, Urbanism and Building environment, where she studied materials science, innovative technologies, prototyping and sustainable design.
Her dissertation is entitled "Additive Manufacturing for daylight" and investigates the design and production of prototypes and products by mechanical means (3D printing), and the possibility of using them in industrial design and construction.
She has collaborated with the technical design company P. Makridis and Associates (PM + A) and the architectural office Pich-Aguilera in Barcelona, Spain through the program " Leonardo da Vinci ”which concerned bioclimatic design.
She has been working as an architect in Barcelona since July 2015, while maintaining her relationship with research into the application of 3D printing in the construction sector.
